Blue Floral & Insects Fork #2

This is a nice porcelain handled fork made by Meissen in the 19th century or maybe even earlier. It has the hole at the end of the handle where the metal fork part goes through the porcelain and comes out at the end. These were not made that way in the newer versions. Sadly the tines are probably not original anymore but were replaced. The porcelain is hand painted with their under glaze blue floral and insect design one sees fairly often on plates and such but not often on silverware. It includes a nice floral arrangment as well as small single flower and two bugs. The mark would be where the ferrule sits between the blade and the porcelain but it is secured well and won't budge and I am not playing with it to get to the mark. The forks is in great condition with jsut a small flaw to the bottom end of the porcelain from when it was made - it is tiny but can be seen in the fifth picture if you really look hard enough. The whole thing is about 7 inches long with the porcelain being about 3 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $199
