Blue Lion Kakiemon Plate

This is a really fun plate made by Meissen in the 20th century. It is hand painted with the hard to find blue lion design which is kind of the companion piece to the yellow tiger design which is much more common off course. The Kakiemon design included the blue lion under a tree on the left side and a nice colorful plant on the right side and has the nice cross hatch type rim decor called the Sulkowski Ozier design in relief with two small flowers and a bug painted on it. A truly stunning design! The plate is 1.375 inches tall and 9.375 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the crossed swords in under glaze blue as well as the usual impressed numbers and a painter's mark in red as shown. The dish is in perfect condition. The Kakiemon colors of these early plates is amazing! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
