Blue Lion Plate - As Is

This is a nice plate made by Meissen in the 20th century during the Pfeiffer period. It is hand painted with the hard to find blue lion design which is kind of the companion piece to the yellow tiger design which is much more common off course. The Kakiemon design includes the blue lion under a tree on the left side and a nice colorful plant on the right side and has the nice cross hatch type rim decor called the Sulkowski Ozier design in relief with two small flowers and a bug painted on it. A truly stunning design! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.5 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the crossed swords with the dot between the tips in under glaze blue as well as the usual impressed numbers and a painter's mark in red as shown. The dish displays perfectly but has a one inch hairline along the rim as shown from both sides. Still a stunning example! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
