Blue Onion Special Sauce Boat

This is a very ahrd to find sauce boat dish made by Meissen in the 20th century. It has a very different shape and design than most sauce boats one finds and is often labeled Fett & Mager on the two sides meaning Fatty and Lean. Depending out of which side you would pour the gravy you would either get the fatty top layer or the supposedly leaner bottom layer. This one here is not labeled in such a way but the design is the same. It is hand painted with their famous udner glaze blue onion pattern with the Meissen swords in the bottom of the stalk. A very nice look especially in this shape and it is really hard to find as well! The sauciere is in perfect condition which is always a plus! It is about 3.375 inches tall, 6.375 inches deep and 6.375 inches from spout to spout. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords with two cuts across it denoting it being a second choice though I am unsure why. It also has the usual impressed numbers, etc. as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
