Blue Onion Leaf Shaped Pickle Dish #2

This is a leaf shaped dish made by Meissen in the 19th century before they added the crossed swords to the bottom of the stalk part of the decoration. Could be used as a pickle dish or to serve sorbet or anything else for that matter. The piece is decorated with thir famous blue onion design to the inside with four blue designs to the outside and a molded design of leaves and flowers to the udnerside. Handle attached to the outside. The dish is in great condition and displays perfectly but the entire edge is rough like something went wrong during the firing process and there are tiny chips and I mean tiny. Probably why it was deemed a second choice piece! But when sitting there you cannot tell at all. The dish is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords (two cuts across them denoting it being a second choice piece) as well as a blue painter's number and a impressed number 15 as shown. The dish is 1.5 inches tall plus the handle which sticks up a bit, 4.75 inches wide (including the handle) and just under 4 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $59
