Blue Onion Pug Dog Paperweight

This is a fun figural paperweight made by Meissen in the late 20th century. The bottom part is a long thin piece modeled with some relief detail and hand painted with a blue and white design based on their blue onion / strawflower pattern. The top part looks like a pedestal that has a blanc de chine pug dog on it that is superbly modeled and left in the white to show off the details and fit better with the design than a painted one would. He is quite cute which is probably why these are so popular. The piece is in perfect condition which is always nice. The piece is marked with the blue crossed swords on the underside as well as the incised model number and an impressed numbers as shown. The entire piece is 2.375 inches tall, 7.75 inches long and just under 1.25 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
