Blue Onion Ball Umbrella / Cane Handle

This is a cane or umbrella handle made by Meissen in the 19th century. It is decorated with their famous blue onion design all around with gold highlights. It has the hole on the bottom to attach it to a cane or umbralla, etc. It is in the shape of a ball and is in great condition with some wear to the gold highlights. The piece is unmarked which is not unheard of on this type of item but usually one does find the mark on the inside hole. I ahve a few marked example in different designs on the site. Definitely made by them looking at the quality of the onion pattern ! The handle is 1.5 inches in diameter and the inside diameter of the hole tapers down to about is 0.375 inches at the bottom but is a bit under .05 inches at the top.
