Blue Onion Spittoon

This is a quite hard to find piece of blue onion - a spittoon made by Meissen in the mid 19th century. It is decorated with their famous Zwiebelmuster in under glaze blue and has a typical and nice shape to it. The larger top bowl with the central opening going into the smaller bottom bowl part like a funnel. The top inside part has the typical blue onion design to it without the crossed swords mark to the stalk so a nice early example and the outside has some nice designs to it as well. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as a blue number 33. and the usual impresed numbers as shown. The piece is 2.875 inches tall with a top diameter of 5.75 inches. The spittoon is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
