Boston Terrier Dog

This is a superb figurine of a dog made by Meissen during the Pfeiffer period of the 20th century. I have seen this described both as a Boston terrier pup and a French Bulldog pup and since I suck at dogs I don't which one is true. Either way he is modelled superbly and hand painted to perfection with the rare under glaze colors Meissen used occasionally on these types of figures. A really nice early version fo this model. The colors look quite stunning! The figure was first modeled by Erich Hösel in 1911 I believe. The figurine is in perfect condition which is always nice! It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the dot between the tops as well as the usual impressed / incised marks as shown. The piece is 5.375 inches tall, 2.625 inches wide and 4.5 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $799
