Brown Pug Dog Figurine

This is a figurine of a female pug dog made by Meissen in the mid 19th century. The nicely modeled and hand painted brown version with black going down the center and around the face and ears. Simple blue collar as opposed to the often seen collar with gold bells. Really well done and earlier than most one sees so that's nice. The figure is in great condition with a tiny chip to the right toe on the left front paw but since it is colored it might have been made this way. It's really tiny if it is a chip. You have to feel it to find and he displays perfectly! The piece is marked with the blue swords that are a bit hard to see under the brown paint but he also has the typical impressed marks - model number r98 I believe and impressed number 48. First choice off course. She is 4 inches tall, 3.5 inches long and 1.75 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
