Bruehlsches Allerlei Bird Scene Plate

The porcelain superb plate was made by Meissen in the mid 19th century. It has a rim design called Brühlsches Allerei which includes the very fancy reticulated rim with lots of hand painted flowers and gold highlights which gives it its name. Each reticulated area is different with three that are more plain with just a touch of gilding and three more that are in the shape of a floral arrangement with each flower hand painted perfectly! The center has a large hand painted bird scene in it including two birds in a little landscape surrounding. One more often sees jsut flwoers or even fruit but the bird scene is extra nice! The Bruehlsches Allerlei design is one of the nicest rim designs one can own by Meissen - it was originally made for Count von Bruehl . The edge has a gold trim to it. The plate is in greatt condition with an area of the foot ring having been restored which does not affect the plate at all. Minor touch of wear to the gilding on the edge. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as the usual impressed numbers one find on Meissen of this period as shown. The plate is 1.75 inches tall and 9.875 inches in diameter which is a very nice size.

Price is $999
