Cane

This is a cane with a handle made by Meissen in the 19th century. The cane is made of bamboo stained brown and the bottom has a metal tip. The handle is porcelain and is handpainted with a floral arrangement with fancy gilding around it on a royal blue (I believe that is what the color is called) background. The handle is attached to the bamboo stick by it being inserted and glued I assume. The amazing thing is that this entire piece is in perfect condition be it for some use marks (and a little rust) on the metal tip on the bottom. It was definitely used though likely only on special occasions. Something I have never seen before and didn't realize until I was writing this description is that the handle is marked on the front of the part just above the bamboo part. Normally these are marked on the inside if at all so you could not see it. The blue ground color hides the mark well though and it is hard to figure out how old it is. Definitely 19th century or earlier. The handle is 2.875 inches long, 1.5 inches tall to where the bamboo starts. The entire piece is about 36 inches long.
