Cobalt Blue & Scenic Cane Handle Wax Seal

This is a rare wax seal stamp made by Meissen in the 19th century. I have owned one of these before though in a very different design. The porcelain part is a cane handle with a hand painted Watteau style scene to the top including a couple in a landscape surrounding. The rest has that rich cobalt blue ground color to it with some raised scroll work highlighted with gilding. The stamp part is made of brass and is quite heavy. Where the personalized design goes that makes the wax seal is not engraved which I think is better because you can give it your own personalized seal. That is kind of neat. A truly superb piece and something rare in the world of porcelain. It is in perfect condition with just one tiny spot of wear. The piece is not marked or should be say not visibly marked but it was definitely made by them during this period. The entire piece is 4 inches long and the metal bottom has a diameter of 1.125 inches. A neat piece of porcelain! If you ahve a desk set in this style this is your once in a lifetime chance to add this to it. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
