Fels & Vogel Chinoiserie Teapot

This is an early teapot made by Meissen before 1750. It is handpainted with the underglaze blue Fels und Vogel Design first and then the gilding and enamel colors were added by a Hausmaler of the shop of F.J. Ferner who was a Thuringian artist and is quite famous! The best part is the Chinese type person blowing some kind of horn instrument on the left side of the spout! A really nice piece with a fun handle shape! The teapot is in good condition with a flat long chip to the underside of the spout which is not visible on display from the sides, some flat chipping to the top rim which was covered by gilding and isn't very obvious because of this and sadly the lid is missing - bummer! The piece is 3.625 inches tall, 6.5 inches long and has a diameter of about 4 inches. I have not owned a piece decorated by the Ferner Workshop so even without the lid it is a must have and a great example! The pot is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark with the blue painters mark of the letter M. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
