Cobalt Blue & Floral Leaf Dish

This is a nice leaf shaped dish made by Meissen in the later 19th century. While this dish comes in many designs - mostly floral or sometimes with a scene I have not seen a cobalt blue version before. The dish has a nice shape to it with a polychrome floral scene in the center on white ground. The scene is surrounded by a fancy gold trim with the rest of the dish having that amazing cobalt blue ground color to it! More gold trim on top of the blue near the edge and a branch handle to one side with gold trim to it.The piece is of superb quality! The dish displays nicely but has a chip to two of the points of the leaf as shown. Nothing terrible and an easy fix for a decent restorer if need be! The underside s marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first quality) underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers as shown. The leaf is 8.5 inches long including the handle, 1.25 inches tall not including the handle and 7 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
