Cobalt Blue & Floral w/ Fancy Gilding Sugar Dish

This is a really superb sugar bowl with its lid made by Meissen in the mid to late 19th century. Both the main body and the lid are hand painted with two nice floral arrangements on white ground with some fancy gilding surrounding these panels with the rest of the pieces having that amazing deep cobalt blue ground color to it with more fancy gilding over that. The finial on the lid is in the shape of a pink rose bud with its stem and two leaves. As nice as they come! The piece is in perfect condition with just a few very minor nibbles to the petals of the finial. The main piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords on the underside as well as the usual impressed marks and a blue mark that is impossible to make out on the footring and a black painter's number that is a bit hard to read as well. Could be 111 or 117 or even 112. The dish with its lid in place is 3.25 inches tall and 3.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
