Cobalt Blue & Floral w/ Fancy Gilding Tray

This is a nice tray made by Meissen in the mid to late 19th century. It is hand painted with a nice large floral arrangement on white ground with some fancy gilding surrounding it and the rest of the piece has that amazing deep cobalt blue ground color to it with more fancy gilding over that. A stunning looking piece that I have not come across before. It's like a little solitaire serving platter. The piece displays nicely but there is a small chip to the outside edge as shown as well as a restored chip shown from both sides. It's quite well done given the intricate nature of the decoration along the edge. Not perfect but is does not really take away from the piece either. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords on the underside as well as the usual impressed / incised numbers one usually finds on Meissen piecs of this period as shown. The dish is 0.75 inches tall, 10.5 inches wide and 8.625 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
