Cobalt Blue & Watteau Scene Box #2

This is a superb little little box made by Meissen in the later 19th century. It is hand painted with a superb Watteau style scene on the lid surrounded by their nice deep cobalt blue color and some superb fancy gold trim. The painting is of superb quality! The bottom part has the same deep cobalt blue ground color and fancy gilding over that. An amazing piece for sure! Typical shape with a domed lid and simple bottom. Gold design to the bottom inside as well. The lidded dish is in perfect condition with a touch of wear to the gold ring around the base only. Displays perfectly! The bottom part is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first quality) underneath as well as some incised marks as shown. The box is 2.5 inches tall and 3.375 inches in diameter. Price is $599
