Cobalt Blue Scenic Quatrefoil Cup & Saucer #1

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Meissen in the early 20th century. The set has everything going for it - an amazing quatrefoil shape, the superb cobalt blue ground with fancy gold combo, the nice floral scenes and even a Watteau style scene! Does not come better than this from this period that is for sure. The saucer is hand painted with two cartouches of a polychrome floral arrangement on white ground while the cup has one floral arrangement and one scene including a gentlemean and a lady in a landscape surrounding. The rest of the pieces have that superb deep cobalt blue ground color with some fancy gold trim all over. There is even a fancy gold trim to the underside rim of the saucer and inside rim of the cup! Fancy gold medallion in the center of the saucer as well as the bottom inside of the cup. Really a nice look and the quatrefoil shape is much harder to find and more elegant than the usual round pieces. The set is in amazing condition with just some very very minor age/use marks but as nice as they come. Both are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers, etc. as shown. The saucer is 1.375 inches tall, 5.3725 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep. The cup is 2 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide with the handle adding another 0.75 inches and 3 inches deep. I have five more sets like this that I will list if anyone wants enough for a tea , coffee or hot chocolate set! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
