Early Creme Pot

This is an extremely rare creme-pot made by Meissen before 1740. Probably around 1730. This shape pot is really hard to find and they disappeared fairly soon after this one was made. I don't think I have seen one made after the mid 18th century. It is hand painted in under glaze blue early blue onion design that is highlighted with lots and lots of gilding. The gilding almost fully covers the blue. The pot has a really nice spout and handle to it and sits on three claw feet. Cute shape! The piece is in superb condition but is missing its lid. One of the claw feet has a firing crack to the inside not visible when on display. I forgot to take a picture of it so if you need it just let me know! The pot has some firing inclusions from when it was made common on these very early pieces! The pot is 4 inches tall, 6.125 inches from handle to spout and 4.375 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue swords mark with a blue painters mark underneath - possibly a T. No impressed number yet. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $649
