Cris de St. Petersburg Lady Figurine

This is a figurine of a peasant girl from the Russian street trader series made by Meissen during the Pfeiffer period of the 20th century. The series is sometimes called the Cris de St. Petersburg - the Russian version of the Cris de Paris from France. First modeled by Peter Reinicke in the 18th century the figurine is of a lady golding a jug in each hand while wearing a long coat, a head scarf and standing on a white base with some flowers on it. A really well modeled and hand painted figurine. The figure is in perfect condition which is always a ncie bonus with porcelain! She is 5 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 2 inches deep and marked with the crossed swords mark underneath with the dots between the top parts the base as well as the usual impressed numbers of the period and a 74. as a painter's mark.
