Dwarf Vase Figurine

This is a figurine of two dwarf holding an urn / vase made by Meissen from the looks of the mark before 1924 though I am not 100% on that. The two dwarfs are superbly modeled and painted as only a Meissen painter could do :) The vase they are holding has a flower on either side as well as some gilding. The base has a little mount in the center and a bit of grass painted on it. This is not a know model as far as I know and seems to be an example handed in by an artist. It was certainly made by Meissen as the paste is correct and the painting is as well. The quality is top! It is a bit oddly marked but it's not the first time I have seen an overglaze mark on a real Meissen piece but I do grant you that it is uncommon. The bottom is marked with an overglaze (but fired and not just painted on) mark as well as incised Original. The model number was edged into the glaze twice as an afterthought as well - 22309. Likely the one and only piece of this model. The back base is incised H.Stolz Meissen. I suspect it was handed in glazed white and then they wanted it painted thus the mark is overglaze more of an after thought! No one can copy the Meissen quality so there is no question that this piece is indeed that! The figurine is in superb condition and is first quality. It is 5.375 inches tall and the base has a diameter of 4.75 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
