Sevres Style Scenic Vase

This is an unusual two piece vase in the Sevres style made by Meissen in the early 19th century. I have only ever come across one of these and it was a touch later and did not have the holes in the bottom which always made me wonder. The vase here has a strong Sevres / French influence in terms of shape and decoration. The main body is oval in shape and tapers from a large opening down to a small base which fits into the second piece which would have held the water. The base of the larger piece has holes all around to be able to absorb it and the base has holes to either side so it could be filled easily without constantly having to take it apart. Both piece have a superb cobalt blue ground with a circular gold design over that. The main body has a superb scene to the front and back including two semi nude ladies sitting on clouds on one side and a lady and a cherub on the other side. Each side has a polychrome floral arrangement on white ground hand painted on it. All four cartouches have a relief design all around highlighted with more gilding. The base has the same cobalt blue and gold design with two small scenes - one to the front and one to the back. One has two flaming hearts sitting on a torch with a laurel leaf garland all on some clouds while the other side has a lyre with some sheet music and some leaves also on clouds. Some relief design around the cartouches with gilding. Each side just has the relief design highlighted with gilding with an openig in the center as shown. It is a very rare shape and I think the model number is R60. They looks stunning when on display but neither piece is perfect which is a given being around 200 years old. The top part has wear to the gold trim mainly around the very top edge and a restored chip to one side. Very small firing crack to the edge from when it was made. Some chipping around the bottom edge which is hidden when in place inside the base. The base has wear to the gold on the very top which is mostly hidden when the top is in place. A bit of gold wear here and there and a larger chip hidden by being colored in to the top edge of the base and some minor tiny chips to the edges. Some hard water stains to the inside from use. All in all in great shape for the age and it looks amazing when on display. The underside of the base is marked with the blue crossed swords mark (first choice) as shown and possibly a blue painter's mark near the edge though it is hard to make out. Looks to be from the Schmierzeit of around the 1820s. The entire piece is 9.675 inches tall, 10.625 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
