Reticulated Basket w/Ormolu Base

This is a superb and early reticulated basket made by Meissen during the mid 18th century, right around 1750. The piece is superbly modeled with a reticulated design all around as well as to the underside which is not something you see too often. Likely meant to store chestnuts. The basket has lots of extra detail to the outside in the form a central groove to the porcelain pieces, applied blue and yellow flowers on all the intersections as well as a little rope design to the bottom edge. The inside lattice just has a groove design to the strands and there is a gold trim to the top edge. What really makes it extra special is the ormolu base with three figural dolphin as feet. It looks stunning! It's a really nice basket that is in great condition with a few minor damages to the applied flowers and wear to the gold trim of the top edge as shown. The basket is marked underneath with the blue under glaze crossed swords mark on one of the strands as shown. The basket is 2.625 inches tall with a top diameter of 6.875 inches and the base adds about 1.5 inches in height. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
