Early Strawflower Pot As Is

This is a nice early small pot likely for hot water or milk made by Meissen in about 1740. It has a really nice shape to it with the early handle which I like very much. The pot is superbly deocrated with a ribbed design to the paste and the famous hand painted under glaze blue strawflower design. Even the handle has a little flower to it! The pot has seen better days with a hairline to the main body right above the handle and a chip to the right side where the spout begins with a hairline going down from there. Some odd brown reside to the udnerside edge. Still displays nicely from the other side and makes for a good example of their early blue and white wares. These were meant to be used as the color didn't ware like most and are thus less common to find in good condition. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords with the letter E under it for the blue painter. An impressed mark on the foot ring that might be for the guy that made the blank pot or a number. I cannot tell. This shape is normally from the 1730s so if it is a number it would be a late example for it. The piece is 4.625 inches tall, 5 inches from spout tip to handle and 3.375 inches in diameter.
