Early Woodcut Flowers Fork #2

This is a rare fork made by Meissen in 1739. I thought they were from the 40's but my buddy told me the crossed swords silver mark dates them to 1739 which is neat. It matches some other cutlery pieces I have on my site. The handle is nicely modeled with a floral Gotzkowski relief pattern on the sides with hand painted flowers on the top and bottom of the handle in the wood cut style of this period. The ferrule between the handle and the blade has a nice ring design to it and it as well as the fork itself is made of silver. The silver is nicely marked with a set of silver hallmarks including a crossed swords mark which I have not seen before. The metal part goes into the handle and there is a spot coming out on the other end to fasten it in place which was only done on early pieces! The fork is in superb condition with the metal turning a bit in the porcelain if you try but it is just a touch. The fork is 7.5 inches long of which 3.125 are the porcelain handle. The handle is about 0.75 inches wide. The porcelain is not marked which is normal but is definitely made by Meissen.
