1730 Yellow Ground Kakiemon Pot

This is a bit of a treat - a rare and early small coffee pot made by Meissen in about 1730. It has a really nice shape to it with the early handle which I like very much and the spout is a bit different than later ones as well with the heart shaped opening. The pot is superbly hand painted with two early Kakiemon flower designs on white ground surrounding by a nicelky shaped thin black trim with the rest of the piece having a pleasant yellow ground color to it. The white spout has two small flowers to it and a bit of gold trim as does the handle. The pot is in amazing condition with just a touch of wear to the flowers of the handle but it sadly lacks its lid which it most likely had. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords (about as early a version as you can have) as well as the bossierer's marks impressed (a cross). Rare to find these pre 1740 pieces nowadays. Just stunning! The piece is 5.75 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $2499
