1740's Floral & Bugs Creamer

This is a very early and superb creamer made by Meissen in about 1740-1745. The shape is superb and the decoration is top as well. The colors are a bit stronger than in the pictures in real life for some reason. There is a large floral arrangement handpainted on either side and then there are lots of bugs scattered throughout as well. From a little lady bug to the gorgeous large butterfly in the front. Nice brown trim on the spout. The flowers on these pieces are much more natural looking and much more detailed than later ones. The pot is in superb condition with just a little damage to the spout. There is no lid but I am unsure if there ever was one since the top opening really changed during the firing process and is not very symmetrical anymore thus fitting a lid would be a bit difficult. Just figured I'd at least mention that. The pot is about 4.5 inches tall, 3.25 inches from front to back without the spout and handle and 3 inches wide. It is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath. This is the creamer to the rest of the set I have up on the site. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
