Forget-me-nots Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice small cup and saucer made by Meissen in the 19th century. Both are decorated with lots of applied 3D forget me nots flowers and their leaves on the outside of the cup and bottom of the saucer. This is the harder to find version compared to the much more common polychrome flowers. Both the cup and saucer sit on six feet and are hand painted with flowers on the inside of the cup and top of the saucer plus a gold trim to the rims. The cup and saucer are in superb condition which is unusual since most one finds in this flower style are heavily damaged since the flowers and leaves are a lot more fragile than the polychrome version. A chip to two flowers on the cup as well as one leaf tip and a chip to one flower as well as a missing flower under the saucer plus four very minor chips to tips of leaves under the saucer. As good as I have seen a set! A very nice set to display! Both are marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed number. The cup is 1.625 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
