4th Choice Kakiemon Plate

This is a really nice wall plate made by Meissen in the 20th century. It is hand painted with a large Kakiemon design in green, blue, purple, yellow and black with a gold trim to the rim. The scene includes a bird sitting on the bottom of a flowering Chrysanthemum branch. It is a really nice scene! The Kakiemon colors and designs are among my all time favorites! A truly stunning plate! The piece is 1.25 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the crossed swords in under glaze blue (fourth choice), a number 70 along the foot ring the usual impressed numbers as shown. Fourth choice pieces are oftentimes really nice since they are done by the artist for their own use and since they would paint it in their specialty the quality is top notch even if the porcelain itself is not as perfect as Meissen likes it. In this case here there are some divots to the back in the paste but the piece displays perfectly and I see no issues at all to the front! There is also a hanger attached to it so one could hang it easily on a wall. The dish is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $149
