Gentleman Figural Bottle Stopper

This is a superb figural bottle stopper made by Meissen during the late 19th century. It is in the form of a gentleman that is nicely modeled with white tie, red shirt, long hair with a goldclip in the back. Reminds me of a nobleman in a historical movie. Hand painted as only Meissen could. Just a superb example. There are a few different models of these stopers out there and they are all great. Some are more fun than others but they are all really nicel The porcelain head is connected to a cork which is still the original one! The cork has a decorative metal ring to the top that is golden in color - might be brass or gold plated or bronze - not sure. The cork looks original and doesn't look like it was ever used. The porcelain head is in perfect condition as is the rest. The stopper is marked underneath but the cork won't budge and I don't want to pry it. Definitely made by them during this era! The entire piece is just under 3.5 inches tall. The cork is 1.875 inches long and 0.875 inches in diameter. The head is 1.5 inches tall and just under 1 inch wide.
