Goat Scene w/Puce Scale Trim Saucer

This is an amazing saucer made by Meissen in about 1750. It has a hand painted large scene in the center including a large goat that is standing with another in the background lying down in a ncie landscape surrounding. It has a superb puce trim to the rim highlighted with a blue, orange and yellow scrollwork along the bottom edge with a souple of flowers jutting into the well of the saucer. One of the best trims they had and with the quality of this scenes this would have been a top piece for this period and with that any period in the history of Meissen! The saucer is in perfect condition with one spot of gold wear along the very edge and some very fine scratches to the white areas only visible when you look for them at the right angle. I ahve seen that on porcelain before but could never explain why they are there. It's like someone used a brillo pad to clean it but that's not it nor is the paint affected. Just odd. There is no restoration, etc. The saucer is about 1.125 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark to the udnerside as well as the usual impressed number. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
