Harlequin w/ Tankard Figurine

This is a really superb figurine made by Meissen during the later 20th century. It is a really fun figure of a harlequin dressed in his fancy outfit while holding a hat with a feather in it in one hand and a tankard in his upper hand. The tankard has the crossed swords on it as well as the year 1738referncing the year it was originally modeled in the 18th century. I wish I ahd an original period piece but we cannot have it all so this figure will have to suffice :) The harlequin is superbly modeled in his red, black and gold outfit, wearing a beard and standing on a base with gold scrolls to it and some flowers. As nice a figurine as it gets from this period! The figurine is in perfect condition which is not easy given the vulnerable details like the outstretched hand with the tankard, the feather on his hat and the slap stick. The figure is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first choice) as well as the usual impressed and other marks as shown. The figurine is about 9.625 nches tall, 3 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1749
