Hiking Gentleman Figurine

This is a nice figurine made by Meissen in about 1750. Likely one of the series of peasant folks they liked to model. The figure is of a gentleman hiking. He is holding a long stick, wearing a nice green hat and is dressed and a nicely decorated shirt and brown short pants that look a little worn. There are leaves on the base by his feet. The figurine displays very well but as is almost always the case with these really early figurines there is some damage. The hat has a small chip and also an older small restored chip, a little damage to the leaves, the foot that stick out in front of the base had some minor work done to the toes mostly on the underside and the stick has been broken and restored and broken again right under the lower hand. A bit of damages to both hands that has been repaired and is hard to spot since the fingers are towards the back side or pointing down. All in al is displays perfectly and is a really nice piece! He is 4.5 inches tall, 2 inches wide and 1.875 inches deep. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark to the back of the base as shown. Underside is typical for the early pieces. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
