Huge Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a huge cup and saucer made by Meissen in the late 19th or early 20th century. Much larger than a normal cup! Both pieces are hand painted with a large bird scene - a single bird on a branch on the saucer and two on the cup. Lots of fun bugs / insects hand painted all around, a basket weave relief pattern to the rim and a gold trim to the edge and handle. Even the underside of the saucer and inside rim of the cup have some more bugs painted on them which you rarely ever see. This the is perfect coffee cup these days :) .The set is in great condition with some very minor wear if any at all. The saucer is 1.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 7 inches. The cup is 3.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 4.625 inches. Both are marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
