Ice Skater Figurine

This is a figurine of an ice skater made by Meissen in the 18th century. Nicely modeled to represent winter it is of a putto draped with a fur lined cloth that is painted pink sitting on a typical base with relief designs to it while tying its ice skates. A bit of gold trim to the base make this a very elegant looking figure! The figurine is in great condition and displays perfectly but the skates have been restored on the bottom which is a fairly common issue. It was done well and is not visible to the naked eye. The bottom of the base is flat which is typical for their early figurines. Unmarked which is not very common but does happen on these pieces with an unglazed underside as the mark burned off during the firing process. The entire piece is 6.75 inches tall, 2.875 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
