Ink Set

This is a set of an inkwell with it's original lid and the matching sander (aka pounce pot ) made by Meissen. This is probably the earliest example I have seen in porcelain as it was made around 1760. Both are marked with the blue crossed swords with the dot between the hilts used as early as 1756. They are handpainted with nice floral garlands some gold trim and each has a flower finial. They are in great condition for their age and the fact the original lid is present is amazing. There is lots of wear to the gold trim and the tiniest of chips to the rim of the sander. Also tiny munchers on the finials and a chip to the lid of the inkwell. And some munchers to the inside edge of the inkwell but mostly underneath the lip. All in all in superb shape. They are 2 inches tall and 2.25 inches wide and deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
