Kaiser Wilhelm II Plate #1

This is a plate / soup bowl made by Meissen in 1893 for the personal use of Kaiser Wilhelm the Second. Quite rare to find these nowadays! A great plate with a relief design to the rim with four bugs in between, a large central floral arrangement and lots of scattered smaller flowers and more bugs. Gold trim to the nicely shaped edge. What makes this piece special besides being a nicely done piece is the fact that it was made for the Kaiser and has his personal monogram is on the back! The plate is in perfect condition with a tiny bit of wear and a popped glaze bubble to the backside rim as shown. As good as it gets really! The plate is 1.5 inches tall and has a diameter of 9.75 inches. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed swords as well as the usual impressed numbers common to Meissen pieces of this period and off course the WR under a crown and the year 1893 under that.
