Yellow Tiger Demitasse Cup & Saucer #2

This is a mocha or espresso coffee demitasse cup and saucer made by Meissen in the 20th century. Both pieces are hand painted with a really superb Kakiemon style pattern that has all the typical colors and looks superb! I have not seen this pattern very often but it is reminiscent of the yellow tiger pattern. Each piece has a lone yellow tiger to it that looks to be spitting fire and a red and green banded hedge with Kakiemon style plants coming out fo them plus a few colorful blossoms scattered about under the hedges. Each piece also has a light brown trim just under the nicely shaped edge. The handle of the cup is superb as well. Really a stunning set! This size cup is not easy to find and I like them better than regular sized pieces since they take up less room in the cabinet. The set is in perfect condition which never hurts either :) It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath (first quality) as well as the usual impressed and painted marks one expects from pieces of this period as shown. The cup is just under 2 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is just under 1 inch tall and has a diameter of 4.\5 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
