Kakiemon Tea Caddy

This is a superb octagonal tea caddy with its lid made by Meissen in the 20th century. It has a superb shape to it and is painted in the Kakiemon style with flowers on white ground and one scene includes a phoenix bird with the alternating panels having a nice yellow ground color to them and gold trim to outline all the panels. The lid has the yellow ground on top and the side is white with a relief ring design to it and a gold ring in the center. The piece is based on an 18th century original off course! The teacaddy is in perfect condition which is great! It is about 4.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.75 inches. The jar is marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed swords as well as the usual impressed numbers as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1099
