Kakiemon Tea Caddy

This is a nice rectangular shaped tea caddy / jar with its lid made by Meissen in the 20th century. It is hand painted in the Kakiemon style with a large floral design to the front with a bug above it and back sides as well as smaller single flowers to the sides and a gold design to the shoulders. The lid has a gold trim to the edge and a flower to the top. A great looking piece and the kakiemon colors are always especially nice. One does not see these pieces often at all! The tea caddy is in great condition but does have a shallow chip to the back right hand bottom corner. Would be a super easy fix for any restorer if need be but it displays perfectly as is. The piece with the lid in place is about 3.875 inches tall, 2.625 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. The jar is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark (first choice) as well as the usual other marks from this period as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
