Large Cobalt Blue & Floral Amphora Vase

This is a really nice amphora shaped vase made by Meissen in the mid 20th century. A very popular design with the nice handles on either side but what makes it a bit more special is the fact that this piece here is much larger than most one sees. It is hard to find the cobalt blue ground version like this with the gilding in great condition! The vase has a large hand painted floral arrangement on white ground in the front surrounded by fancy gilding with the main areas having that rich dark cobalt blue ground color to it. It has a white lines around the round part of the foot with a gild line to either side, gold trim to the top and bottom edge and some nice gilding to the white handles. The vase is in great condition with just a very minor touch of wear to the gilding. The piece comes in two pieces that are connected with a screw which is normal. The vase is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as some other marks as shown. First choice off course. It is is 11.625 inches tall, 6.25 inches from handle to handle and 5.25 inches in diameter in the center. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $899
