Blue Onion Serving Tray

This is a larger serving tray made by Meissen in the 20th century. It is decorated with their famous Zwiebelmuster ( aka blue onion ) design in under glaze blue. The center of the tray has the usual design to it with the crossed sowrds in the bottom of the stalk. The edge has some nice molded details to it in relief highlighted in blue. There is a handle to either side. It's a stunning looking piece and rather large to hold an entire tea or coffee set. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as the usual other blue marks and impressed numbers as shown. The tray is 1.625 inches tall including the handles and about 16.375 inches from side to side. It is in perfect condition. First choice piece! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
