Nice Greyhound Figurine

This is a nice figure made by Meissen in the late 19th century. It is of a greyhound / whippet dog on a base with lots of colorful flowers attached to it. The dog is supported by a tree trunk. The figurine is really well modeled with lots of details espcially the ribs and the face of the animal are well done. The tree trunk is really wel done, too. And the hand painted details are top notch just like one would expect from a Meissen piece! The figurine is in greatt condition with a bit of damage to the leaves and flowers as shown. Displays perfectly and is just stunning! The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords (first quality) as well as the usual incised model number. The last digit (4) was originally a script F that was ground away to make it a four. Someone apparently had made a mistake. The figure is 6 inches tall, 9.625 inches long and 3.25 inches wide.
