Cobalt Blue & Fancy Gilding Floral Box

This is a superb lidded box made by Meissen in the 20th century during the Pfeiffer period of the late 20s. It is the larger version and is hand painted with a superb polychrome floral scene on the lid on white ground surrounded by their nice deep cobalt blue color and lots of fancy gold trim. The painting is of superb quality but the gilding is what makes the piece especially in combination with that deep blue color. The bottom part has the same deep cobalt blue ground color and fancy gilding over that. An amazing piece for sure! Gold design to the bottom inside. The lidded dish is in great condition with a tiny flake to the gold trim of the very edge of the dish. It's a very thinflake and a bit of gilding would hide it perfectly. The bottom part is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the dots between the tops (first quality) as well as the usual impressed marks, etc. as shown. The box is 3 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
