Lemon Tree

This is a really fun piece made by Meissen in the 19th century. It is a lemon tree grown in a flower pot. It even includes the dirt, has leaves, flowers and fruit on it. The stem is superb as well. The cache pot has a little design to either side including a gilded handle. Great looking piece! It is hand painted and superbly modeled. The piece is marked to the bottom with the under glaze blue crossed swords with the pronounced hilts mark in blue as well as the usual impressed numbers and a painter's number as shown. The entire piece is 6.125 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 3 inches deep. The piece displays nicely but as one could guess after 100 plus year this super fragile piece has suffered some damages. There are a number of chipped leaves, a few reglued pieces and some missing pieces. That having been said - you turn it the right way and it looks amazing!
