Light & Dark Brown Bear Figurine

This is a really nice figurine made by Meissen in the very early 20th century. The figure is of a pair of bears - one light brown and standing up and the other dark brown and sitting down. The darks brown bear has a white patch around his neck. The figurine is superbly modeled and painted just right to look very elegant and almost real. They used the under glaze colors from the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period that one does not see too often and they look amazing! The figurine is in perfect condition. It is marked underneath with the under glazed blue crossed swords mark along with the usual impressed / incised marks and a painter's number 5. as shown. The piece is 5.25 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep. The piece was designed by Erich Hoesel and has the model number V102. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
