Puce Tischchenmuster Cup & Saucer #4

This is a nice mid 18th century Meissen teabowl ( aka Koppchen ) cup and saucer dating to the 1740s. It is hand painted with their famous hand painted Tischchenmuster design (little table motif ) in puce and under glaze blue with gold highlights which is rarer than the usual version in iron red, puce, blue, green, yellow and gold. The table is in under glaze blue with Indian style flowers all around and a nice design to the rim. The set is in great condition with a bit of wear to the center of the saucer where the cup would sit from age and to the very top inside edge of the cup from use but the set displays nicely. The cup has a firing crack on the udnerside by the mark which does not affect the piece and is from the making. Each is marked underneath with the Meissen crossed swords marks as well as a blue painter's mark on the foot ring and an impressed number 2 as shown. The tea bowl is a bit over 1.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.125 inches. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
