Loewenfink Fabeltier Plate

This is an amazing and early Meisen plate made around 1735. It was painted by Adam Friedrich von Löwenfinck with his super famous Fabeltier (mystery animal) design. Here is one of the rarer version that includes a dog and a horse (I think) The animal is nicely painted in a landscape surrounding in the Kakiemon colors including a tree and an Asian style flower with birds flying overhead. Three butterflies on the rim and lots of flowers and leaves scattered throughout to hide imperfections in the paste. Nicely shaped rim with a brown trim to the edge. A nice early version with bright colors and a superb scene! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.375 inches in diameter! It is marked underneath with the Meissen blue crossed swords in underglaze blue. The plate is in good condition with a small chip to the rim as shown which would be an easy fix and some wear to the high points in the plate (little bumps in the paste) and from stacking. There is an invisible tiny short hairline where the chip is that is visible only when a light is shone through the plate. The Kakiemon colors of these early plates is amazing but my new camera is still giving me attitude! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
