Male Blackamoor Figurine

This is a rare and amazing figurine of a male Blackamoor made by Meissen in about 1745. Modeled by Peter Reinicke this is a new favorite of mine. The piece is superbly modeled and hand painted in those really nice early colors. It is about as early a figurine that one can find made by them that is still affordable. The gentleman attendant in wearing a plumed cap, purple skirt with gilding to it with a red striped sash and yellow boots while holding a tazza with a coveredbeaker or vase on it. He is standing on a nice base with two flowers and their leaves on it. This figurine has lots going for it. It was painted when it was made (very important!) and not later. It has superb colors and a nice design and on top of it is in great condition with just one leaf on the base chipped and a small chip to one of the flowers. As nice as they come! And to make it even better I also have his female friend to make a perfect couple :) The figurine is 5.375 inches tall, 2 inches wide and 1.875 inches deep. Unmarked but one cannot mistake these early pieces. They are amazing to say the least! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $4999
